A homoeopathic paediatrician, a counselling expert and a freelance writer are a few words to describe my profession. My sole aim is to put forth practical piece of information that guides every one right in the direction, blending the medicos to a layman with a simple gesture to make the medical things a little less convoluted and comprehendible.

As every one knows, ‘Health is wealth’. This holds true for each of us but you experience its truth more when you fall ill. Minor infections, cough and cold or fever are regular thing and anyone can get affected with it. But when a major illness affects you or near one then it becomes a cause of worry. Nowadays, ultra urban and modern lifestyle has reduced the physical activity. Rather, every work is mostly done by machines. Due to this the body does not get enough exercise. Many common diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, heart problem etc. are owing to such inactive lifestyle.

So, as to stay away from these diseases and maintain good health at home you can follow the following tips:

  • Try to eat fresh home cooked food, instead of stale or packaged food. Once in a while eating out is fine but regularly going to food joints or restaurants for snacking is not good for your digestion.
  • Make exercise a part of your daily routine. It can be anything from a simple walk in a nearby garden or doing yoga at your home. Regularity is the key towards getting best results.
  • Include dry fruits and raw salads in your diet. These contain lots of minerals and vitamins which protect you from diseases and build your immunity. Replacing mid time snack with handful of dry fruit mixture goes a long way in strengthening your entire body system.
  • Eating green leafy vegetables and their soups enrich your body with multivitamins and other nourishing elements which boost up cell division and promote good health.
  • Always keep a regular time table of breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. Your body needs food supplement at regular intervals. By maintaining regular habit of eating, you will be able to fulfill its needs properly.
  • Regular intake of herbs through daily meals also improves resilience towards diseases. Cloves, ginger, garlic, pepper, tamarind, basil etc. have therapeutic values which heal the body from inside and protect it against viral and bacterial infections.

Home care for special parts

  • Eating almonds daily can keep your eye sight healthy.  It is also good for skin and if used on skin and head scalp regularly can prevent skin infections.
  • Juice of white gourd is especially good for heart patients and diabetics. If taken regularly it can relieve you of all the prescribed medication.
  • Clove oil is known to be the best medicine for teeth and gum problems. Even major toothpaste brands use it as the base composition.
  • Eucalyptus oil works wonders during cough and cold. Small drops sprinkled on handkerchief or pillow gives you immediate relief from nasal congestion.
  • Regular intake of bitter gourd in your diet controls diabetes.
  • Apart from milk, whey is also a major provider of proteins. Body builders, especially vegetarians who do not get high proteins from fish and meat, can use whey or whey powder in milk and juices to enhance their muscle power and build the body of their dreams.
